Cam/Valve Cover Oil Ventilation Plates - Oil Separation 32v Cars 87 to 95

Old idea but a new updated design. A number of years back these were available from Precision Motorwerks, however to buy them you had to sign the "Official Secrets Act". Relatively simple solution for a long standing issue. The current manufacturer (USA) has improved on the idea and of course these are readily available with no "strings" attached.

Porsche’s factory crankcase ventilation has some inherent flaws. They used a long plastic shroud, that acts like a vacuum, sucking up oil and pulling it into the intake which then causes the engine to ingest it. Tests performed by Louie Ott found that the heads get packed with oil due to the higher oil pressures found in the 928 engine. Also the cylinder head drains are too small leaving oil to build up inside the cylinder head cavities.
The cam cover vent plates allow the crankcase pressure to be released into the intake with less oil than the factory setup. The cover plates do this by forcing the air to make multiple turns, leaving oil suspended in the air to drop out. This significantly reduces the volume that is ingested into the intake. Less oil burnt in the engine. The black plastic shroud is left out and should not be used. It is recommended that the intake be cleaned of all oil residue prior to intake install. For most stock cars a pair is fine. Anyone that is running a Stroker or a Boosted 928 should buy and install all 4 as they will have higher crankcase pressures than stock.
Kits are sold in packs of two or four. Each kit comes with hardware and a drill and tap.
